About the role
The Commis I supports the kitchen team at JW Marriott Goa by preparing meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring smooth service during busy periods. This full‑time position is ideal for candidates with solid culinary experience who thrive in a fast‑paced hotel environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, cold dishes, and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures; thaw and store food safely.
- Maintain food logs, monitor portion sizes, garnish dishes, and ensure overall food quality.
- Communicate with chefs and service staff about specials, excess inventory, and out‑of‑stock items.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching when needed.
- Follow all safety, security, and uniform policies; report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
- No prior supervisory experience required.
