Project Manager – HVAC Projects (Chennai)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end execution of commercial and industrial HVAC projects across Chennai. The role combines planning, site supervision, client liaison and financial control to ensure timely, safe and profitable delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans and material forecasts based on BOQ and client timelines.
• Oversee on‑site installation of ducting, copper piping, insulation, testing and commissioning.
• Supervise daily site activities, ensuring compliance with ISHRAE standards, safety norms and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, PMC, contractors and architects; prepare and circulate meeting minutes.
• Monitor budgets, BOQ, RA bills and cost variances to safeguard project profitability.
• Lead a team of 10‑20 site engineers, supervisors, technicians and subcontractors, driving productivity, quality and safety.
• Prepare DPR, WPR, RFIs, material approvals and project closure documentation.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience managing HVAC projects in commercial/industrial settings such as offices, malls, factories or hospitals.
• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent diploma with strong relevant experience.
• Proven ability to handle multiple sites simultaneously in Chennai.
• Based in West Mogappair, Chennai, with personal two‑ or four‑wheel vehicle.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of VRF, chilled water systems, AHU, FCU, ducting and ventilation.
• Proficiency in reading and estimating HVAC drawings.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera for scheduling.
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
