Power Systems Distribution Specialist

About the role

Pravāh is building the world’s first foundation model of the electric grid. As a Power Systems Distribution Specialist you will own the modeling and analysis engine that powers real‑time operational insight and long‑term distribution planning for utility clients.

Key responsibilities

• Build, validate and maintain distribution power‑flow models using GIS, CIM, asset parameters and live AMI/SCADA data to produce accurate steady‑state solutions.
• Design and operationalise real‑time technical loss computation workflows, loss‑disaggregation methods and state‑estimation techniques for sparse measurement environments.
• Develop simulation workflows for capacity expansion, DER interconnection, voltage regulation and contingency analysis to support utility investment decisions.
• Create automated data‑quality pipelines that detect topology errors, measurement inconsistencies and unauthorized connections.
• Collaborate with ML and software engineers to translate power‑system expertise into scalable computational pipelines and utility‑facing tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in distribution power‑systems analysis (utility, consultancy, grid‑software vendor or research).
• Strong understanding of power‑flow, voltage regulation, short‑circuit, contingency analysis and technical loss computation at the distribution level.

Required skills

• Power‑system simulation tools such as CYME, Synergi Electric, PowerFactory or GridLAB‑D.
• Power‑flow analysis, voltage regulation, short‑circuit analysis, contingency analysis, power‑factor correction, technical loss computation.
• Handling of GIS, CIM, AMI and SCADA data for model building and validation.
