Multi Skilled Trades Technician (Plumbing Focus)

About the role

The Multi Skilled Trades Technician will join the Estates Department at Caithness General Hospital, providing essential mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance to support patient care. This full‑time position is based on‑site in the Caithness and Sutherland region.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance of building services, plant and equipment.
• Perform plumbing repairs and installations, ensuring compliance with health‑care standards.
• Support electrical system upkeep, including lighting, power circuits and emergency systems.
• Assist with steam boiler plant, pump, and ventilation system servicing.
• Participate in on‑call rota and provide shift cover as required.

Required profile

• Qualified plumber with a recognised UK plumbing qualification.
• Current UK driving licence.
• Experience in a health‑care environment is advantageous.
• Self‑motivated team player comfortable with remote working and flexible schedules.
