Mechanical Construction Manager

About the role

The Mechanical Construction Manager will lead site construction activities for mechanical systems and critical plant equipment. This role ensures that all work is performed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage erection, installation, alignment, and commissioning readiness of boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary plant equipment.
• Drive daily, weekly and monthly construction targets for Balance of Plant (BoP) systems, including pumps, tanks, compressors and rotating equipment.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and subcontractors, monitor productivity, and resolve construction bottlenecks.
• Review construction schedules, identify risks, and ensure availability of manpower, materials and equipment.
• Enforce strict HSE compliance, promote zero‑harm safety culture, and oversee QA/QC inspections and testing.
• Support inter‑departmental coordination with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, EHS and Commissioning teams to achieve mechanical completion and smooth handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Preferred: M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) and proficiency with Primavera P6.
• Additional certifications in Construction Management or Safety Management are advantageous.
