IT Support Engineer – Desktop Support (Mumbai)

About the role

Assystem is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to internal clients. You will install, upgrade and troubleshoot hardware and software systems while ensuring prompt and accurate customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Address user tickets related to hardware, software and networking.
• Guide customers through installing applications and peripherals such as printers and scanners.
• Conduct remote troubleshooting and test alternative solutions until issues are resolved.
• Customize desktop applications to meet user needs and record technical issues in logs.
• Escalate unresolved problems to higher‑level support and follow up to confirm system functionality.
• Report customer feedback, potential product requests and assist in creating technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar role (6‑8 years).
• Hands‑on experience with Windows, Linux and macOS environments.
• Knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals.
• Understanding of network security practices and anti‑virus solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving, multitasking and customer‑oriented attitude.
• Graduate with IT training and certifications in hardware and networking.
