HVAC Design Engineer – Guindy

About the role

A leading HVAC projects company that delivers commercial, industrial, hospital and IT‑park projects is seeking an HVAC Design Engineer to join its Guindy office.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare HVAC layout, ducting and piping drawings, including shop and GFC drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Perform cooling and heating load calculations with HAP/E20 following ASHRAE standards.
• Select equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, chillers, VRF/VRV units, pumps and fans.
• Prepare BOQs, technical submittals and material take‑offs for tender packages.
• Coordinate with project and site teams to resolve design clarifications and on‑site issues.
• Review vendor drawings and support procurement while ensuring compliance with NBC, ISHRAE, ASHRAE and local codes.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Diploma with HVAC certification (ISHRAE certification is a plus).
• Minimum 2 years of HVAC design experience on commercial, hospital or IT‑park projects, with a portfolio of completed work.
• Based in Chennai; candidates from Guindy, Velachery, Saidapet or Alandur are preferred.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Revit MEP (mandatory)
• HAP software (mandatory)
• Knowledge of psychrometrics, duct design, pipe sizing and static pressure calculations
• Familiarity with Navisworks or Trace 700 is a plus
