GBS HR Consultant – Mumbai

About the role

We are seeking a GBS HR Consultant to join Wilhelmsen’s Global Business Services team in Mumbai. The role supports HR Managers in delivering day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring compliance with local labour laws and providing guidance to employees and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Support HR Manager in delivering local HR services aligned with SLAs, KPIs and legal requirements.
• Oversee timely completion of HR and admin tasks such as payroll inputs, benefits, pension, insurance, leave and employee documentation.
• Coordinate group insurance policies, PoSH implementation and business travel responsibilities.
• Advise employees, managers and stakeholders on HR matters and compensation decisions.
• Participate in organisational development initiatives, including restructuring, M&A and office space projects.
• Assist with recruitment processes and local hiring agenda.
• Analyse HR metrics and support learning and development initiatives.
• Promote correct use of global and local HR systems and ensure compliance with health, safety and statutory reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant HR experience with solid knowledge of Indian labour laws.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
• Independent, proactive, structured and service‑minded with high ethical standards.

Required skills

• Good understanding of HR processes and tools.
• Comfortable using digital technology and HR information systems.
• Ability to analyse and interpret HR metrics.
