Executive / Assistant Manager – Project Purchasing

About the role

The Executive / Assistant Manager – Project Purchasing will lead component and part development, new part development (NPD), vendor development and cost negotiation for mechanical components, machinery building and sub‑assemblies. You will be responsible for achieving quality, cost and delivery targets while coordinating with central purchasing, material, quality and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage RFQ process, supplier selection, evaluation and techno‑commercial discussions.
• Drive zero‑based costing, cost negotiation and strategic sourcing for casting, machining and forging parts.
• Oversee quality planning (VQP), preventive quality measures and release coordination for new parts.
• Coordinate material ratio planning, change management and project‑specific activities.
• Represent the function in new product development (PEP) projects and ensure alignment with central purchasing and manufacturing.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering) with 6‑10 years of purchasing experience.
• Proven experience in project or program purchasing, vendor development and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including a short stint in the UK for training.
