Drug Safety Scientist – Pharmacovigilance

About the role

Accenture is seeking a Drug Safety Scientist to join its Life Sciences R&D vertical. The role focuses on pharmacovigilance operations, ensuring the safety of pharmaceutical products by monitoring, evaluating and reporting adverse events in compliance with global regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage case identification, data entry, MedDRA coding, case processing, submission and follow‑up for Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) in the safety database.
• Analyze complex safety data from clinical trials, healthcare providers and patients to detect and assess drug‑related risks.
• Collaborate with internal Accenture teams, clients and regulatory authorities, providing timely safety updates.
• Support rotational shift work as required to maintain 24/7 pharmacovigilance coverage.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy degrees.
• 5–8 years of experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety surveillance or related fields.
• Proven ability to work independently and, when needed, lead a small team or work effort.
• Strong decision‑making skills impacting own work and potentially that of others.
