Commis I – Food & Beverage

About the role

The Commis I supports the kitchen team in delivering high‑quality meals and ensuring smooth operations in a busy hotel environment. This full‑time position is based at Vagator Beach, Goa, and reports to the Chef and Food & Beverage manager.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and manage food thawing from freezer storage.
• Maintain portion control, food arrangement, garnish, and food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the Chef of excess items, and communicate menu specials or out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching as a role model.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Uphold professional uniform standards and protect company assets.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
