Commis I – Food & Beverage Assistant

About the role

The Commis I supports the culinary team in delivering high‑quality meals and ensuring smooth kitchen operations at our Sheraton hotel. You will work closely with chefs and service staff to prepare, cook, and present dishes that meet our brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration units and maintain proper food storage.
• Ensure correct portioning, arrangement, garnish, and documentation of food logs.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, informing chefs of excess items for specials.
• Communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching as directed.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced environment.
