City Growth Manager – UPI Growth

About the role

The City Growth Manager will own the charter of growing Paytm’s consumer market share within focus cities. The role involves decoding local market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive activity to identify untapped growth opportunities and convert these insights into targeted plans that increase transacting users, usage frequency, and wallet share for Paytm.

Key responsibilities

• Track city‑level market share, category penetration, and competitive intensity in UPI and other products to identify growth white spaces.
• Leverage internal and third‑party data, cohort trends, and on‑ground market intelligence to size opportunities and prioritize high‑impact levers.
• Design and execute city‑specific growth plans, including targeted campaigns, offers, and hyperlocal activations.
• Identify and evaluate hyperlocal growth levers such as local partnerships, community‑led activations, influencers, and city‑specific promotions.
• Run structured pilots and experiments to validate new levers before scaling city‑wide or replicating across other focus cities.
• Own city‑level growth dashboards and MIS, tracking KPIs like market share, transacting users, revenue per user, and retention.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in Growth, Business Strategy, or Consulting roles.
• Prior experience in B2C consumer internet, fintech, payments, or e‑commerce preferred.
• Strong analytical ability with experience in market sizing, funnel and cohort analysis.
• High ownership mindset, bias for action, and an experimental approach.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to work with cross‑functional teams and partners.
