Cashier – Branch Banking

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Cashier to join our branch banking team. The role involves executing all cash‑related transactions and ensuring accurate record‑keeping in line with internal and external banking guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash deposits, withdrawals, cheques, drafts, dividend warrants and pay orders within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash, collect repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain related system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward cash registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and prepare requisition forms for the regional office.
• Perform daily cash tally, reconcile end‑of‑day reports and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, promote bank products and guide customers to alternative channels.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies and defined turnaround times for transactions.
• Validate customer identity during cash withdrawals and verify cash deposit slips for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Full‑time availability reporting to the Branch Operations Manager.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and cross‑selling services.
• Understanding of banking procedures and regulatory compliance.
