Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a proactive Buyer to manage material purchase requests, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, price, delivery schedules and corporate policies. The role supports the supply chain by qualifying new suppliers, negotiating agreements and monitoring supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute purchase requests according to specifications, price, and delivery terms.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams.
• Negotiate and renew agreements, price lists, and contractual terms with key suppliers.
• Analyze bids to determine optimal value and provide market insights to bid teams.
• Track goods receipt, verify deliveries and ensure accurate invoice processing.
• Monitor supplier performance (on‑time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolve issues.
• Initiate supply orders in the ERP system, confirm deliveries and align orders with customer requirements.
• Maintain the Pro‑Supply global supplier relationship platform and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in any field.
• 3 to 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of SAP.
• Experience with Ariba.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Preferred experience with JAGGAER procurement tool.
