Branch Cashier (Full-time)

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes maintaining accurate registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with bank policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements on counterfoils.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests, collect cash against deposit challans, and record loan repayments as per EMI schedules.
• Maintain inward/outward, petty‑cash and assets registers; submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, address queries, promote cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and accurate accounting of all cash movements.

Required profile

• UG degree in any discipline, preferably Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions in a banking environment.
• Familiarity with making entries in financial modules/ERP and consolidating accounting data.
• Ability to detect counterfeit notes and verify transaction authenticity.

Required skills

• Cash handling and basic accounting skills.
• Proficiency with ERP (financial modules) for transaction entry.
• Operating knowledge of computers and standard office software.
