Bank Cashier (Multiple Locations)

About the role

The Cashier role is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at branch locations, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. The position supports the smooth functioning of the branch by handling cash, cheques, drafts, and other instruments, while delivering courteous service to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments according to EMI schedules and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, end‑of‑day reconciliation and report results in the Branch report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash department with the Operations Officer.
• Provide superior customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, bank policies, and defined turnaround times for transactions.

Required profile

• Full‑time position reporting to the Branch Operation Officer.
• Grade AM‑IID within the Branch Banking department.
• Ability to follow internal and external banking guidelines for cash handling.
• Strong attention to detail for daily reconciliation and register maintenance.
