Associate Director, Finance & Operations (India)

About the role

The Associate Director, Finance & Operations will lead the India OCFO team, overseeing finance, contracts, procurement, HR, IT and administration for FHI 360’s country office and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for finance, contracts management, procurement, HR, IT and administrative services across all projects.
• Ensure compliance with FHI 360 policies, donor requirements and Indian legislation in all financial and procurement activities.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, audit coordination and regulatory compliance (taxation, FCRA, etc.).
• Support the Country Representative on HR functions, including staffing, payroll, safety and safeguarding policies.
• Coordinate with regional and headquarters teams to implement consistent financial controls and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
• Minimum 10 + years of progressive senior leadership experience in finance, procurement and grant management, preferably in INGOs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex donor‑funded programs and navigate US government and other donor regulations.
• Strong supervisory and team‑building skills with experience leading multi‑disciplinary shared‑services teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi, with proven stakeholder management abilities.
