Assistant Manager – Housekeeping

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Housekeeping supports daily operations across housekeeping, recreation/health club and laundry at a JW Marriott property in New Delhi. Reporting to the Director of Services, the role ensures guest rooms and public areas are clean, safe and meet brand standards while maintaining budgetary controls.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily cleaning assignments, manage room status communication with the Front Desk and oversee lost‑and‑found procedures.
• Maintain inventory of linens, guest supplies and housekeeping equipment, placing orders as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms and public spaces, providing feedback and corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, loss‑prevention policies and collaborate with Engineering for maintenance requests.
• Supervise housekeeping staff, handle guest complaints, and contribute to guest satisfaction initiatives.
• Assist the Housekeeping Manager or Director of Services in their absence, overseeing budgets and staffing schedules.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of housekeeping experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, inventory control and safety regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, front‑desk and engineering teams.
• Leadership attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
