About the role
The Zonal Merchant Lead is responsible for driving merchant acquisition and activation across a defined geographic circle. This role ensures the brand’s visibility in the marketplace, supports cross‑functional teams, and delivers growth targets for both small merchants and large‑format retail partners.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new merchants within the assigned circle, covering both small and large retail formats.
- Activate merchants by onboarding them onto the platform and ensuring seamless integration.
- Maintain market visibility for the brand through targeted initiatives and partnerships.
- Collaborate with marketing, MIS, and sales teams to secure necessary support for merchant growth.
- Monitor competition, provide market intelligence, and develop strategies to win market share.
- Plan and execute circle‑specific merchant acquisition, activation, and throughput plans.
- Train, mentor, and develop a team of team leads and merchant executives.
Required profile
- Proven experience in sales, distribution management, or merchant acquisition.
- Strong knowledge of the local geography and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
