Software Engineer II – Java Full Stack Developer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality, secure, and scalable Java full‑stack applications. You will collaborate closely with product owners and global teams to deliver intuitive user interfaces and robust back‑end services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement full‑stack Java solutions using Spring, Java 8+, and modern front‑end frameworks.
• Develop RESTful APIs with Spring Rest and ensure performance through optimized database queries.
• Work with product owners to create usable UI designs and visualizations.
• Participate in architectural discussions, iteration planning, and feature sizing.
• Provide support during system and user acceptance testing.
• Follow Agile processes and actively engage in ceremonies.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and supporting full‑stack Java applications.
• Strong knowledge of Spring (5 or higher) and Java 8 or later.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle or SQL Server and writing performant queries.
• Experience with React or Angular for front‑end development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, Chef).
• Comfort working with servers such as Tomcat or Apache and IDEs like IntelliJ, Eclipse, or STS.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle and Agile methodology.
