Site Construction Engineer – Civil (HVDC)

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Site Construction Engineer, Civil to join its HVDC team. You will coordinate and inspect civil construction works, ensuring they meet design, quality, safety and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support civil engineering works by providing construction insights, lessons learned and best practices.
• Review civil ITPs, ITRs and subcontractor technical submissions for compliance.
• Coordinate on‑site civil activities in line with the project schedule and cost targets.
• Assist the Civil Construction Manager in developing detailed work plans with subcontractors, including resources, equipment and milestones.
• Maintain up‑to‑date civil documentation and ensure its use on site.
• Monitor and inspect civil works to guarantee required quality and standards.
• Lead or participate in site meetings with customers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Prepare and manage red‑marked civil drawings with subcontractors and engineering.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, procedures and internal guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or MSc in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction, preferably in industrial or energy projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.
• Flexibility, openness and a team‑player mindset.
• Willingness to work on site and travel as needed.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
