Pharmacy Consultant / Domain Specialist – Senior Role

About the role

EY is seeking a senior Pharmacy Consultant / Domain Specialist to join its healthcare consulting practice. The role combines deep pharmacy‑operations knowledge with analytical and stakeholder‑management capabilities to help clients optimise their pharmacy benefit strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse end‑to‑end pharmacy workflows across retail, mail‑order and specialty settings.
• Support formulary management, prior‑authorization and utilization review processes.
• Apply expertise in Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) models, benefit design and rebate structures.
• Evaluate medication utilization patterns, cost trends and adherence metrics.
• Assist specialty drug management programmes and medication‑safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, medical teams, operations and technology stakeholders.
• Align pharmacy processes with clinical, financial and regulatory requirements.
• Produce consulting deliverables such as workflow documentation, analysis and recommendations.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience in pharmacy operations, PBM, healthcare consulting or related roles.
• Strong understanding of pharmacy workflows in both payer and provider environments.
• Hands‑on experience with formulary management, utilization management and prior‑authorization.
• Proven ability to analyse pharmacy utilisation, cost and performance data.
• Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication safety and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder‑management skills.
