Mechanical Engineer – New Product Development

About the role

Emerson is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its New Product Development (NPD) team. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from concept through production ramp‑up, ensuring designs meet cost, quality and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects through concept, design, validation and production ramp‑up.
• Create cost‑effective concepts using Creo CAD and support designs with engineering calculations and simulations.
• Manage Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Orders and related documentation in ERP systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and operations to transfer design details into production.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify root causes and propose cost‑effective solutions.
• Clear communicator who builds strong cross‑functional relationships.
• Quick learner who can adopt new tools and AI‑driven design methods.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Creo CAD.
• Experience with simulation tools such as Ansys and SolidWorks for FEA/CFD.
• Knowledge of ERP systems for BOM and ECO management.
• Understanding of material selection and manufacturing processes (plastics, castings, sheet metal).
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and apply core mechanical engineering principles.
