Material Controller

About the role

The Material Controller will ensure seamless material flow from suppliers to production, supporting Volvo Group’s commitment to sustainable transport solutions. You will act as the main liaison between suppliers, internal planning teams, and logistics, guaranteeing that the right parts arrive on time and at the right cost.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily deliveries against call‑offs, flagging and resolving any deviations.
• Communicate with suppliers on schedules, order confirmations, and discrepancies.
• Track inbound shipments, update delivery status in SAP, and manage ASN alerts.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, coordinate JIT parts, and support production planning.
• Analyse material shortages and supplier performance using ERP reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements in material flow and inventory control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Commerce or related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in supply chain, materials management or logistics.
• Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Plex.
• Knowledge of PowerPoint and Power BI.
• Basic Python scripting skills (advantageous).
