Legal Counsel

About the role

Zydus Wellness Limited is seeking an experienced in‑house Legal Counsel to join its legal team in Ahmedabad. The role focuses on managing litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance across its FMCG and pharma businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full litigation lifecycle, from risk assessment and pre‑litigation strategy to mediation and court proceedings.
• Handle regulatory matters related to IPR, FSSAI, Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Legal Metrology, and Labour Laws.
• Draft, review, and file legal notices, pleadings, affidavits, and other case documents.
• Provide practical legal advice to business units and develop risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with external counsel and law firms for case management and ensure effective communication.
• Track litigation progress, maintain management information systems (MIS), and report updates to senior leadership.
• Manage legal spend and ensure adherence to internal compliance processes.

Required profile

• Qualified law degree with a strong background in litigation and dispute resolution.
• Relevant experience in the FMCG or pharmaceutical sector, preferably handling regulatory matters.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
