About the role
The Interior Safety Engineer will develop CAD concepts and solutions for safety and restraint systems in automotive projects. Based in Pune, you will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure design integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with program timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Generate CATIA V5/V6 body engineering CAD concepts for safety and restraint projects.
- Create detailed CAD geometry, drawings, assembly models and skeleton structures.
- Design and develop seat belts, child restraints, knee, passenger, side, and curtain airbags, as well as interior head‑impact and ejection‑mitigation features.
- Validate process constraints, clearance, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Maintain up‑to‑date CAD data reflecting required maturity levels.
- Provide CAD support, track deliverables, and escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Engineer.
Required profile
- 5‑10 years of experience in automotive interior safety design.
- Proven delivery history in the automotive sector.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, logical, and critical thinking abilities.
Required skills
- CATIA V5
- CATIA V6 (preferred)
- Team Centre Engineering (TCE) / Enovia
- Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- CAD methodology for part design, assembly design, drafting and kinematics
