HR Business Partner – Mumbai

About the role

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will align business objectives with employees and management for a designated business unit in Mumbai. Acting as a trusted advisor, the HRBP will deliver value‑added HR services that support the organisation’s strategic goals while maintaining deep business literacy.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with line managers, providing HR guidance and interpreting policies.
• Analyse HR trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.
• Identify training needs, coordinate executive coaching and monitor training effectiveness.
• Manage and resolve complex employee‑relations issues, conducting thorough investigations.
• Provide day‑to‑day performance‑management support, including coaching, counselling and disciplinary actions.
• Collaborate with management to improve work relationships, morale, productivity and retention.
• Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
• Support workforce planning, restructures and succession planning.
• Drive employee‑wellness initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the business unit’s financial position, mid‑range plans, culture and competitive landscape.
• Proven experience in HR consulting, employee‑relations and performance‑management.
• Ability to analyse data and translate insights into HR programs.
• Experience designing and evaluating training and coaching initiatives.
• Excellent investigative and problem‑solving skills.
• Capability to influence senior leaders and build strong partnerships across functions.
