Foundation Brakes Engineer – Chassis

About the role

The Foundation Brakes Engineer will support the delivery of chassis brake components from concept through production for vehicle platforms. The role focuses on supplier management, parts release, and build support while ensuring quality, cost, and timing targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery and engineering release of brake components into PLM/3Dx system.
• Work with Tier‑1 suppliers to define braking requirements, manage timing, quality and cost.
• Generate and maintain BOMs, component drawings to ISO standards, and envelope files for packaging.
• Lead DFMEA activities and manage Design Verification Plan (DVP) execution.
• Maintain part numbers, revisions, configurations and support change management.
• Provide engineering support during prototype and production builds, resolving fit, function and quality issues.
• Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, cost and weight without compromising safety.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering brake components from concept to production in an OEM or Tier‑1 environment.
• Strong understanding of braking system fundamentals and their impact on vehicle dynamics.
• Knowledge of brake component attributes, manufacturing and assembly requirements.
• Practical experience with rig validation test methods for brake systems.
