Foreign Trade Professional – Import/Export Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Foreign Trade Professional to manage day‑to‑day import and export operations for Bosch’s software development centre in Bangalore. The role ensures smooth customs clearance, coordinates with logistics partners and supports compliance across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily import and export activities, coordinating with customs house agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines and transporters.
• Ensure timely customs clearance of shipments and verify import/export documents (invoices, packing lists, Bills of Entry, shipping bills, COO, etc.).
• Support classification, duty benefits, FTA documentation and customs compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams – purchasing, planning, warehouse, finance and plants – for shipment clearances.
• Monitor shipment status, track demurrage, detention and clearance delays, and follow up on customs queries, duty payments and refunds.
• Maintain EXIM compliance records, assist audits and prepare periodic MIS reports and KPI updates.
• Identify and implement process improvements and operational controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in import/export operations and customs clearance.
• Good knowledge of customs procedures, DGFT regulations, FTP schemes and logistics operations.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate with multiple stakeholders and solve problems.
• Strong English communication; additional language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Customs documentation and EXIM compliance.
• Handling air, sea, courier and project cargo shipments.
• Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Excel and automation‑related systems.
