Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist

About the role

3M is seeking a motivated Finance Analyst to join its Finance team in Bangalore. In this position you will deliver insightful analytics, build robust financial reports and support decision‑making across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, consolidate and present qualitative and quantitative financial analysis for orders, sales, gross margin and OPEX.
• Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc FP&A reporting, including forecasts and budget participation.
• Prepare daily/weekly sales reports highlighting drivers, risks, currency impact and macro trends.
• Monitor order data, generate daily order forecasts and track KPIs such as backlog and takt time.
• Report on gross‑to‑net sales, cash discounts, rebates and market development funds.
• Track and analyze OPEX (R&D, SG&A), perform variance analysis and support budgeting.
• Generate inventory dashboards, forecast seasonal trends and assess working vs non‑working inventory.
• Conduct in‑depth AR, DSO, DIO and cash‑flow analysis for month‑end and quarter‑end reporting.
• Drive process simplification, automation and enhanced analytics across FP&A.
• Collaborate with corporate, business‑group and regional FP&A teams on ad‑hoc requests.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of relevant FP&A experience.
• CA/CMA or MBA (Finance) qualification.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
