ANZ is seeking an Engineering Chapter Lead to drive technical excellence and people development within its NZ Technology domain. This senior leadership position blends people management with deep technical expertise, helping to shape a high‑performing engineering culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
• Strategic workforce planning to ensure the team has the resources and guidance needed to meet mission goals.
• Contribute to technology initiatives, drive innovation, and uplift technical capability across the chapter.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, principles, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and Agile delivery teams while not being embedded in a specific delivery stream.

Required profile

• Proven record of managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• Hands‑on technical experience with development, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to design and implement new patterns that raise platform capability.
• Strong coding and scripting skills, with experience in design and code reviews.
• Passion for coaching, mentoring, and providing technical guidance.
• Commitment to software engineering excellence, new methodologies, and leading change.
• Experience working in cross‑functional, Agile, and continuous delivery environments.
