About the role
The North America Financial Controller leads financial reporting for all business units across the region, partnering with the regional executive team to translate commercial objectives into accounting actions. Reporting to the Diageo Group Controller, this role sits on both the North America Finance Leadership Team and the Controllers’ Group Leadership Team, providing strategic and people leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end financial reporting for North America business units.
- Collaborate with regional executives to align accounting decisions with commercial strategy.
- Lead and develop the North America Finance Control team, including Demand FP&A, Finance Experience, Supply FP&A and other GBO sub‑functions.
- Drive process improvement, shared‑services activities and risk assessment across the finance function.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and SOX requirements.
Required profile
- CA or CPA qualification with 18+ years of experience in a multinational corporate environment.
- In‑market business exposure and extensive financial accounting & reporting experience.
- Proven people‑management capabilities.
- Experience with internal/external audit, SOX compliance and shared‑services processes.
- Strong background in process improvement, project management and risk assessment.
