Controller / Manager – NetSuite (Hyderabad)

About the role

The Controller will lead end‑to‑end accounting activities for an operational consulting business, ensuring accurate financial tracking, timely billing, and reliable reporting. This position works closely with consulting, operations, and the US‑based CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and bank reconciliations.
• Post journal entries, accruals, provisions, and period‑end adjustments.
• Prepare client invoices for time‑material, milestone, or utilization‑based projects and validate billable hours.
• Track receivables, follow up on overdue payments, and produce ageing reports.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual close, and generate MIS, profitability and variance analyses.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance tracking.
• Process vendor invoices, consultant payments, employee reimbursements and payroll coordination.
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Ensure statutory, tax and regulatory compliance with external consultants.
• Participate in ERP implementation or migration (e.g., NetSuite) and identify process improvements.

Required profile

• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in services/consulting or project‑based environments.
• B.Com, M.Com or MBA in Finance (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, invoicing, receivables and reconciliations.
• Mandatory exposure to payroll processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with US‑based CFO and internal stakeholders.
• High ownership, attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
