CNC Operator – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Astrobase Space Technologies is seeking a skilled CNC Operator to support the production of aerospace‑grade launch vehicle components. You will work on high‑precision turning machines, ensuring parts meet stringent quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC turning centers (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas) to machine titanium, Inconel, stainless steel and aluminum alloys.
• Program and edit G‑code, set offsets and apply tool compensation.
• Read engineering drawings, interpret GD&T, and control surface finish.
• Use precision measurement equipment such as micrometres, vernier calipers, bore gauges, height gauges and CMMs.
• Optimize processes to reduce cycle time while maintaining compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and NADCAP.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues and calibrate machines.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and quality‑assurance teams.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or Machining Technology.
• Certified CNC Operator on Fanuc, Siemens or Haas platforms.
• Training in GD&T, precision metrology and AS9100 quality systems.

Required skills

• CNC turning operation and G‑code programming.
• Fanuc, Siemens and Haas control expertise.
• Machining of titanium, Inconel, stainless steel and aluminum alloys.
• Drawing reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Use of micrometres, vernier calipers, bore gauges, height gauges and CMM.
• Process optimisation and cycle‑time reduction.
• Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 and NADCAP standards.
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and machine calibration.
