Business Development Manager – Industrial Heavy Machinery

About the role
The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth and expand market presence for industrial heavy machinery solutions in Chennai. You will identify new opportunities across construction, manufacturing, mining and energy sectors, build strategic client relationships and lead the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across target industries and execute sales strategies to meet revenue and market share targets.
- Manage key accounts, act as primary contact for RFQs, contract discussions and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with engineering and product teams to align heavy‑machinery specifications (hydraulics, engines, structural systems, automation) with client needs and deliver technical presentations.
- Explore new markets, geographies and develop channel partnerships or dealer networks.
- Prepare commercial proposals, pricing, tender documentation and lead contract negotiations.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecast revenue and report KPIs to leadership.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics and after‑sales service to ensure timely delivery and installation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field (MBA advantageous).
- 5–10+ years of business development or sales experience in industrial heavy machinery or equipment.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing large deals with OEMs, EPC firms or industrial clients.
- Strong understanding of market trends, competitor activity and customer needs.
