Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the smooth functioning of the branch’s cash handling function and delivers superior customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain accurate entries in the banking system, including inward/outward registers, petty cash, and asset registers.
• Perform daily cash tallying, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and prepare the Branch End‑of‑Day report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and cash custody with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Interact with customers, address queries, and promote cross‑selling of bank products.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and internal policies for all cashier operations.
