About the role
This part‑time Administration Officer role is based in the Diagnostics Directorate of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will provide front‑of‑house and administrative support for the Radiology Department, booking office and related sub‑departments, acting as the first point of contact for patients and staff.
Key responsibilities
- Provide reception and administrative support, including opening and closing the department.
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, handling queries, changes and cancellations.
- Register and update patient information on RIS/CRIS and maintain accurate audit trails.
- Manage appointments, letters, waiting lists and coordinate diaries with staff availability.
- Arrange patient transport, interpreter services and issue preparation instructions.
- Issue diagnostic reports, retrieve and track PACS images, and request comparative films.
- Provide waiting‑list updates, conduct basic audits and record research codes.
- Maintain organised admin areas, prioritise urgent tasks and work independently.
Required profile
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and work independently.
- Flexible, proactive attitude and good teamwork principles.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology (desirable).
- Understanding of imaging department procedures and regulations (desirable).
