Structural Engineer – Telecom Structures

About the role

Tata Communications is seeking a Structural Engineer to design and assess telecommunication structures such as lattice towers, monopoles and antenna mounts. The role involves applying Indian and international standards to ensure safe, reliable infrastructure for 4G/5G networks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural design and assessment of telecom structures and prepare documentation.
• Design steel lattice towers, steel and concrete monopoles, rooftop poles and antenna mounts.
• Conduct quality checks against client requirements and provide modification/strengthening solutions.
• Analyze existing modifications for monopoles and self‑supporting towers.
• Design and analyse foundations (isolated, mat, pile) and foundation modifications.
• Develop Excel tools for manual calculations and review CAD construction drawings.
• Prepare BOMs, technical documentation and support continuous design improvement.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in structural design and analysis of steel telecom structures.
• Good knowledge of Eurocodes, Australian codes, ANSI/TIA‑222, IBC2015, BS EN 1993‑1‑1, IS 875‑III and IS 800.
• Understanding of telecom network requirements for cell‑site structures.
• Familiarity with 4G/5G technology upgrades and major wireless platforms (Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson).
