Specialist Privacy and Data Protection

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Specialist in Privacy and Data Protection to join its Global Business Solutions Center in Pune. The role supports Mastercard’s data‑driven products and services by ensuring vendor contracts comply with global privacy regulations and by facilitating smooth, secure business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply a strong understanding of global privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA, and translate legal requirements into practical business solutions.
• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate data privacy terms in supplier agreements such as SaaS contracts, pilot agreements, statements of work, and proof‑of‑concept agreements.
• Review, negotiate, and advise on data protection clauses in services agreements and standalone data protection agreements with vendors and third parties.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with sourcing, business, and legal stakeholders to support contract negotiations and ensure compliance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of privacy regulations and provide guidance to internal teams.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data privacy clauses in vendor contracts.
• Familiarity with SaaS, pilot, and proof‑of‑concept agreement structures.
• Ability to interpret legal requirements and translate them into business‑friendly terms.
