Software Dev Engineer II

About the role

As a Software Development Engineer II you will own the end‑to‑end design of complex frontend systems that serve millions of Swiggy users. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to turn requirements into scalable, performant, and maintainable user‑facing features.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement high‑impact frontend features using React, TypeScript and Next.js.
• Ensure pixel‑perfect UI implementation, responsive design, and accessibility compliance.
• Define and evolve component libraries, design systems, and state‑management strategies (Redux, Zustand, Context API).
• Optimize performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, LCP, FID) through code‑splitting, lazy loading, image optimization and caching.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright) and monitoring (Sentry, DataDog).
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best‑practice coding standards.

Required profile

• Strong experience building large‑scale frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
• Deep knowledge of Next.js features such as SSR, ISR, API routes and middleware.
• Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), functional programming patterns and asynchronous code.
• Proficiency with modern CSS solutions (Tailwind, CSS modules, Emotion or Styled‑Components) and responsive design.
• Hands‑on experience with build tools (Webpack, Vite, ESBuild) and version control (Git).
