Software Architecture & Automation Engineer (SCM)

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is looking for a senior professional to lead architectural design and automation initiatives for its Software Configuration Management (SCM) platform. The role focuses on translating complex requirements into robust system designs and building end‑to‑end release automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document systematic software architectures using models such as C4, addressing reliability and usability.
• Develop and maintain Python‑based automation tools, APIs, and CLI utilities.
• Create release automation pipelines, including versioning (Conventional Commits), changelog generation, and quality‑gate promotion.
• Integrate CI/CD workflows with Docker, Kubernetes, Artifactory and Infrastructure‑as‑Code APIs.
• Collaborate with embedded Linux development teams to ensure tooling aligns with end‑user contexts.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics & Communication or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in software architecture, automation, or release engineering.

Required skills

• Python 3.x (advanced scripting and automation).
• Python ecosystem tools: Poetry, Pytest, Pylint/Flake8, Typer.
• Git expertise, including GitFlow and advanced branching/merging.
• Experience with GitHub/GitLab repository management.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Artifact management: Artifactory.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code APIs.
• REST API integration and data formats: JSON, YAML, TOML.
• Linux‑based embedded software development knowledge.
