Senior Director, Policy

About the role

The Senior Director, Policy will lead the development and execution of public policy and government affairs strategies for a high‑growth technology organization across India and the broader subcontinent. This senior leadership position bridges business objectives with regulatory priorities, influencing frameworks that affect AI, cloud computing, data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement government affairs and public policy strategies aligned with business goals.
• Engage with central and state ministries, regulators, and policymakers on issues such as AI, cloud, digital privacy, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry associations, think tanks, and civil‑society groups.
• Represent the organization in high‑level policy forums, roundtables, and industry consultations.
• Collaborate with Legal, Sales, Product, and Communications teams to ensure a unified policy engagement approach.
• Monitor regulatory developments, translate them into actionable advocacy plans, and support growth in regulated sectors.

Required profile

• 16+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory affairs, preferably within technology or multinational environments.
• Proven track record working with central and state government bodies in India.
• Established network of relationships with government officials, regulators, and policy influencers.
• Strong strategic thinking, execution capability, and ability to operate independently in complex environments.
