Senior Auditor – Internal Audit (Financial Markets)

About the role

The Senior Auditor – Internal Audit (Financial Markets) will lead internal audits of the Trade Finance business, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal policies. This position reports to the Team Leader – Internal Audit and works within the Financial Markets audit vertical.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits of domestic trade operations, IFSC Business Unit, and related Financial Markets activities in line with the Risk Based Audit Plan.
• Document audit work‑papers, assess governance, policies, processes, risk management, information security, and business continuity.
• Interpret RBI and FEMA regulations and verify Risk Based Supervision submissions related to Trade Finance.
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to enhance audit effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Oversee concurrent audits, ensure timely report submission, update audit scopes, review findings, and drive resolution of issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years in Trade Finance audit or operations within large to medium Indian commercial banks.
• CA or MBA qualification; certifications such as CDCS or International Trade Finance (IIBF) are preferred.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Trade Finance products and end‑to‑end processes.
• Expertise in regulatory returns, MIS reporting, UCP 600, URR 725, ISBP 745.
• Proficiency with SWIFT and SFMS messaging, Nostro and Vostro account operations, and reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of RBI and FEMA regulations governing imports, exports, FDI, ODI, ECB, and related transactions.
