Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will join NCS & Co’s Chennai office to lead end‑to‑end accounting activities for a portfolio of clients. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on delivering accurate financial records, supporting tax compliance, and helping clients build scalable finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, process accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures, preparing and reviewing financial statements.
• Support tax computations, filings, and statutory compliance for client entities.
• Assist audit teams by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their financial processes and recommend improvements.
• Mentor junior accountants and contribute to team development.
• Participate in technology‑driven finance transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Chartered Accountant firm.
• Hands‑on experience with statutory compliance, tax calculations, and audit support.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial data and produce management insights.
• Professional communication skills for client and internal interactions.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
• Semi‑qualified CA candidates or those who have completed CA articleship are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting and ERP software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
