About the role
We are seeking a PYP Homeroom Teacher to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning experiences aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework. The teacher will be responsible for the overall academic, social, emotional, and personal development of students in the assigned class.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning experiences aligned with the PYP framework.
- Serve as the primary teacher responsible for students' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Facilitate inquiry‑based, concept‑driven, transdisciplinary learning.
- Develop students' literacy, numeracy, research, communication, self‑management, social, and thinking skills.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student agency and international‑mindedness.
- Assess, monitor, and document student learning using formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Maintain student portfolios, progress records, report cards, and learning documentation.
- Collaborate with specialist teachers, coordinators, and support staff to enhance learning outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, wellbeing, and development.
- Organize and participate in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, field trips, and co‑curricular activities.
- Integrate technology effectively to support teaching and learning.
- Participate actively in curriculum planning, professional development, and school improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Graduate or Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject area.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification; PYP training/certification preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in primary grades, preferably in an IB, Cambridge, or international school.
- Excellent English communication and ICT skills.
- Strong understanding of inquiry‑based and student‑centered learning.
- Knowledge of the PYP Learner Profile, Approaches to Learning (ATL), and transdisciplinary themes.
- Effective classroom management and relationship‑building abilities.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong collaboration, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
