PROII Simulation - Product Test Engineer

About the role

As a Product Test Engineer for AVEVA PRO/II Simulation, you will ensure the quality and reliability of a leading steady‑state process simulator used across chemical, petroleum and natural‑gas industries. You will combine chemical‑engineering expertise with software‑testing skills to validate the product, automate tests and support customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for PRO/II simulation software.
• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks, analyse results and report findings.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts and developers to refine product requirements.
• Investigate and troubleshoot customer‑reported issues, providing timely technical support, workarounds and solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (BE/B.Tech); advanced degree (Master's or PhD) highly preferred.
• 5+ years experience as a Process Engineer or Technical Support Engineer in refineries, chemical plants or EPC consultancy.
• Familiarity with AVEVA Process Simulation is desirable.
• Strong interest in software development and modern testing methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to create formal documentation and presentations.
• Ability to work effectively with dispersed teams across multiple time zones.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and self‑motivation.
