Professor / Associate Professor – Commerce & Management

About the role

SGT University is seeking a senior academic leader to head its Faculty of Commerce and Management. The position involves overseeing program planning, assessment, and development, as well as driving teaching excellence through innovative pedagogical approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assess, and develop academic programmes within the Commerce and Management department.
• Recruit, manage, and develop faculty members to meet institutional goals.
• Implement pedagogical innovations, including online and blended learning solutions.
• Collaborate with school leadership, program managers, and faculty development teams.
• Ensure student satisfaction and achievement of defined learning outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance standards such as AQAR, NAAC, and NBA.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Finance, Commerce, HR or a related discipline with a strong research record, or a Master’s degree with significant industry experience.
• Minimum 15 years of managerial experience in a B‑School or university setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and impact in an academic environment.
• Comfort working in an entrepreneurial, start‑up mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work with multicultural and international teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) guidelines.
• Familiarity with NAAC and NBA accreditation parameters.
