Production Manager (Mid-Level) – Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Manager (M2) leads manufacturing operations in a pharmaceutical environment, ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with cGMP, regulatory and quality standards. This mid‑level managerial position requires strong leadership, process optimisation and cross‑functional coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
• Monitor machine utilisation, downtime and productivity to achieve yield and cycle‑time goals.
• Support internal and external audits (USFDA, MHRA, WHO) and maintain proper documentation (BMR/BPR, logbooks, deviation handling).
• Investigate deviations, OOS results and drive CAPA implementation.
• Lead a team of officers, operators and supervisors, allocating manpower to meet production goals.
• Conduct training on SOPs, safety and compliance.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives to improve productivity, yield and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• 14‑17 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong leadership exposure, managing multiple lines or departments.
• Experience in project execution, scale‑up or technology transfer.
• Hands‑on experience with Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing (granulation, compression, coating).
• Graduation in Pharmacy and a Master’s in Production Management.
