Procurement Officer – Aviation Fuel

About the role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Procurement Officer with a strong focus on aviation fuel to join its Global Business Services team in Ahmedabad. The role involves managing end‑to‑end procurement activities, ensuring compliance with the airline’s category strategy and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market searches to identify potential fuel suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Evaluate specifications provided by user departments and monitor purchase enquiries.
• Develop RFP/RFQ/RFI documents and manage sourcing events from initiation to award, including justification and approval processes.
• Administer tender processes, prepare system documents, and ensure all required approvals and calculations are completed.
• Stay updated on commodity indexes, global inflation data, and relevant regulatory information.
• Negotiate costs and commercial terms for low to medium‑value goods and services.
• Create and maintain purchase orders, item codes, and other procurement records using leading‑practice tools.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, delegation of authority, and other company procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement, preferably within the aviation fuel sector.
• Ability to work closely with end users to define specifications and execute orders.
• Strong analytical skills to assess market data and supplier performance.
• Excellent communication and inter‑departmental relationship management.

• Negotiation techniques for supplier contracts.
